Subj: Bass cl ligatures and mouthpieces

Man it's been a while since I've chatted on here...

I'm slowly but surely venturing into acquiring my own equipment. I have
a Rovner Mark III ligature on its way to me, and am wondering about other
types of ligatures as well. Especially the Rovner Gradient and the BG
Revelation ones. I'm playing on a Selmer C* mouthpiece, if that's of any
help.

This ligature I've ordered will be here in time for the last
concerts of the year, and I'm pretty excited about it! To the best of my
knowledge, I'll be the first bass cl player at St. Olaf to use an
inverted ligature. Yeah, and just in time for me to graduate right after
I play on it - literally!

And mouthpieces... Like I said before, I play a Selmer C* mouthpiece, and
I like it, but I don't exactly have the ~$90 to buy one now. Are there
mouthpieces out there that are similar to the C* but more affordable?
Cost wouldn't normally be a great concern, but I'm starting down at Iowa
as a 5th/6th year senior paying my own way, so... Around $60-70 is more
my price range.

Thanks for the help!
