I don't know how valid of a resource this is, but a while ago (a year?)
there was a Nova aired on PBS on the problem of the Mpingo going extinct.
It had all sorts of nifty information on the tree and its harvest and steps
until it became an instrument. It also happened to use the Buffet factory
in Paris as its examples.
