Thank you for your many responses to my query about swabs. I'm glad
to hear that the Vandoren swab may be like the anniversary year
Buffet swab I have continued to use over the years and it's nice to
know that there is still something available that I can recommend
that will get through the clarinet easily and be absorbent but not
coarse.

As for alternatives, some of my students have appeared with these fuzzy
bore absorbers (for lack of a better word) that they put in the upper
and lower joints instead of swabbing. This does not appeal to me,
however, I will say that their instruments look quite good inside.
The worst thing a student divised was running a sock through her
horn...
