Hi Connie,
Edmond Hall was a great player. If I'm not mistaken it was he that played
clarinet behind Louis Armstrong in the film Hello Dolly. In fact I think he
did a lot of playing with Satch and various others. He was born in New
Orleans and unlike others of his time he did not adopt the traditional dixie
style. He had his own thing and it's too bad others haven't found it yet.
Same goes for Pee Wee Russell.
I would not be surprised if you are able to find numerous other recordings
with Hall that have been reissued on CD. While he probably didn't ever
record as a leader, I'm almost certain that you'll hear him on Louis
Armstrong records from the 40's and 50's (though you may have to look, Joe
Muranyi and Barney Bigard are on a lot of them but hey they're not bad
either.)

Good Luck,
Mike Cassara,
Cleveland, Ohio
