Ok, sleepyheads.

Just when I threatened to send the Vandoren Technical Reference text privately
to the two people who reacted within a reasonable time, I got 12 more requests
in three days. To wake up the rest of you all, I decided to put the integral
text on the list.

I typed it in unaltered, without any cuts and including all commercial
statements. Think about them what you want. I do not know what is to be taken
as true or relevant.

The brochure has two halves, one dedicated to clarinet mouthpieces and the other
half to saxophone mouthpieces. Typing in the clarinet part required lots of
time, so I don't give you the sax info.
In the middle section there are some photographs of the manufacturing process at
Vandoren. Looks like almost every step is carried out by hand!

I include the part about German and Austrian mouthpieces because it may be
interesting to see the large differences in facings etc. Here in Holland
German Wurlitzer clarinets are relatively widely used by professionals (with
French 'Bohm' applicature but German type mouthpieces).

I've only made use of 80 columns of characters. If the table structure is not
right at your display, maybe you should change to 80 columns or more.
I've omitted some pages with pictures.

American pitch '13' series.
Vandoren have developped [sic] the new '13' series mouthpiece specifically for
American clarinettists using A440 pitch.
Two models have been eleborated with specific facings to this series: the M13
and V13 mouthpieces.
The '13' series range also expands to other models (traditional facings): 5RV,
5RV Lyre, B40 and B45.

Traditional beak & 'Profile 88'
The only difference between the 'Traditional' and 'Profile 88' mouthpieces is
in the exterior angle of the beak.
Therefore the musician is free to choose the model which suits his purpose in
terms of best playing position, sound emission, greatest playing comfort and the
most controllable and precise articulation.

Example using the 5JB mouthpiece: this mouthpiece has a tip opening of 1.47 mm;
its table length (facing) is 22.5 mm. We recommend the use of our traditional
reeds nos. 1, 1.5 and 2 or the V.12 model no.2.5. The black ebonite model can be
had with either a traditional beak or with the profile 88 angle. A '2tones'
model mouthpiece is available only with the 'Profile 88' form. This facing is
not available in an American tuning (A440) version.

German mouthpieces (Bb clarinets)
The shapes and dimensions of these mouthpieces have been precisely calculated
and developed for use with German system clarinets.

* The VA models suit the requirements of the Viennese school. Recommended for
use with Black Master reeds.
* The VD models suit the requirements of the German school. Recommended for
use with White Master reeds.
All the VD models are available with two different tenon external diameters:
