That story is hilarious.

Reminds me of an article I read a long time ago about Jimi Hendrix. The
writer interviewed some sales people from Manny's Music in NYC. Apparently,
they always knew when Hendrix was in town -- this was early in his career --
because guys would come into the store the next day and ask for "whatever
it was that Jimi was playing".

What they didn't realize is that Jimi himself would occasionally come into
the store... and would pick up any old piece-o'-crap guitar that he could
put his hands on. Funny... 'cause he always sounded great, regardless of
the instrument.
