All this talk about hitting f'''' ,etc, on the Bass Clarinet has got me
fuzzed.

As a former Bass Clarinettist, all I can say is that the advantage of the
Bass Clarinet is the full, rich tones it produces in the lower register. The
disadvantage, as compared to our beloved Bb Soprano, is the relatively clumsy
key action.
As a current Soprano clarinettist, I think the advantage of the clarinet over
all other wind instruments is the way it sings from the throat tones to the C
above the staff. Why waste time seeing how high we can go? Leave that for
the Trumpets.
