Subj: Bass Clarinet Range

Somebody (I forget who) mentioned that he felt that all soprano clarinet
music should be played on bass subject to the range of the instrument.
I do not understand. Bass Clarinet has a larger range usually, because
in addition to going all the way up to high C, mine has a low Eb key,
and some have low C.

You do have to learn to use the pinhole for notes above the staff,
but once you get used to that, the ultra-high notes I find easier
than on Bb. (My lips don't bleed when I hit super A on bass)

So what limitation are we talking about here?
