Interesting subject. I was chagrined to find out recently that clarinets do
not seem to mellow with age the way wooden stringed instruments do. The
culprit, I was told, was saliva clogging up the natural pores in the wood.
So my 30 year old Noblet, as well as myself, seem to be fading away. If I
trade it in for a new Buffet or LeBlanc Concerto, will I be rejuvinated as
well? If we are running out of Grenadilla, should I expedite my purchase?
Do you think my wife will buy any of this?
