I agree with Mike. Play what works. Eddie Daniels plays a very close
facing, about like my 0M (zero/medium). His mouthpiece I believe is a
refaced Chedeville. There is no question that Eddie can slip in and out
of "legit" and "jazz" in the same take. Listen to his first solo
clarinet release BREAKTHROUGH.

Regarding Gary Foster: Actually Gary owns and plays at least 3 of my
mouthpieces. He has a 3L that he likes for jazz. Currently he uses a 2L
for most of his recording work, but was using a 0M before I sent him
the 2L.

My mouthpieces are very conservative. Even my 3 facing is only about as
open as a B45.
