Subj: ICA CD Recording Project

The International Clarinet Association CD Recording Project announces
a call for tapes. The purpose of the ICA CD Recording Project is to record
significant music for clarinet which is not readily available in the current
recorded repertoire.
Any member of the ICA may apply.
DEADLINE: Tapes must be received by December 15, 1995.
REQUIREMENTS: 1. Each member may only submit one tape of a performance
of one composition for consideration by the committee.
2. The composition may be for clarinet solo (any size or shape clarinet),
or in chamber ensemble of no more than five performers.
3. Preference will be given to works under 20 minutes in length.
4. Initial submissions should be made on a standard cassette tape, one
side only. Artists whose performances are selected will be expected to
provide a CD-ready digital master tape which meets the specifications
to be supplied by the CD Recording Project Committee. The ICA will be
responsible for the production and distribution of the compact disc.
JUDGING: 1. Judging of tapes will be conducted with no knowledge of
the performer. Do not include any identification on the cassette or
in the cassette box. There should be no speaking on the tape.
2. Notification of selected artists will be made by January 31, 1996.
The final master tape will be due to the CD Recording Project Committee
by April 15, 1996.
3. All tapes will become the property of the ICA and will not be
returned unless a stamped, addressed envelope is provided (US postage
or an International Postal Coupon).
