"Who was that clarinet player?"

Since the performance was with the Brooklyn Phil, I'd wager that the clarinet
player was John Manasse. This guy is an absolute sensation. His recordings of
the Weber concerti, as well as everything else he's ever recorded, are
phenomenal - so wondrously musical. And he's fairly young, too - maybe 29 or
30 years old. He isn't as well known as, say, Shiffrin, but he's definitely in
the same category.
