Scott,
If you are an advanced player and have a kickass 'cellist, I
recommend the Sonata by the late British composer Phyllis Tate. It is one
of those masterpieces which everyone should know about but doesn't
because few people play cl. & 'cello duets. On a scale of ten I rate it
at twenty! It's available from O.U.P. (Oxford University Press) and runs
about 18 glorious minutes. I knoe of it because I and my 'cellist wife
play lots of duets and none can hold a candle to it except the 4-minute
gem "A Private Game" by Shulamit Ran, the Israeli composer/prof. of
music at U. of Chicago. It is published by Presser. Enjoy.
