So who needs repertoire to play jazz.
Back in my wild youth (late 1970's) I did a duet at an art gallerie,
Eb conta bass clarinet and drums. It was completely improvised and
very off the wall (and great fun!) I was a guitarist at the time but
I just happened to have an Eb contra (don't ask!). It was definitely
not legit, I was not a clarinetist! But it sounded cool and even got
aired on the local underground jazz radio station.

Those were the good old days. You could actually get away with stuff
like that in public.
