Piotr.....you need a peg, one which is adjusted and extended all the time,
and your first problem is that you need a stand that will accommodate the
clarinet with the peg extended. When you double there isn't usually enough
time to remove a sax hook, then hook up the bass clar.Play the clar. from the
peg. The one I use I think is imported from Germany and has a cup on the
bottom which will hold bass clar, Eb contra, or bassoon. The peg on the
clar. stays extended all the time. There are probably other stands which do
basically the same thing. I have a friend who uses a sax stand and lays the
bass clar at an angle. When you stand up to solo and need a strap, I wuld
think any good sax strap would work; only one hook, so it is easy to get on
and off. Ray Hyman makes one, but there are tons of them at the music
stores...look for one of those black nylon straps. They don't slip and they
last forever. I think a shoulder harness is overkill, unless you are having
recurring skeletal-muscle problems. Lee Callet
