Hummmmm interesting question.
Wasn't a unic (sp?) a castrated male used to guard harems?
I think the reasoning was that they wouldn't be interested anymore.
The testes are the major testosterone producing glands in the male.

It's testosterone that makes pubescent boys the way they are. (you
remember don't you Dan)
I think sexual functionality would probably still be intact but there
might not be much interest.
On the other hand they say it's all in the mind. So....
I heard a story somewhere that Igor Stravinsky was talking to the
Pope and the Pope asked him, is there anything I can do for you, to
which Stravinsky replied bring back castrato.
