Subj: My first Clarinet! and THANKS!
Date: Mon, 10 Apr 1995 08:22:27 -0400

I'm very excited!
Tomorrow I'm going to order my first Clarinet. I'll order the Vito
VSP since no one told me I was crazy for doing it. (In fact no one
responded to my questions about it :-(

[I know some of you don't like to see messages from beginners and to
you I apologize, but, your expert advise and learned opinions are
very valuable to me since you all are really the only clarinetists I
get to talk to. (I'm VERY busy with my thesis but every day I take an
hour after lunch to play that Noblet bass I rented and I read the
messages on this list, that's really my only break from work (I've
been here writing computer code since 8:00 this morning ahhhhhhhh!))]

I'm not going to buy the Noblet bass I'm renting, it really needs a
complete rebuild and I don't think it's worth it.

So, I'll order (now or in a couple of months) the Vito bass and a
Selmer C* mouthpiece and hope the combination is satisfactory.

The bottom line is I'll have my own instruments and I'll be able to
get on with making music. I'll have 3 months of free time this Summer
to write and play music JOY! (I have some ideas for Clarinet and
Guitar, and small Clarinet choir's. I'll dust off my manuscript pen
this Summer and see what happens)

Again, my deepest thanks to everyone who has been kind enough to take
time to write in response to my questions. I've learned a great deal
from your responses.
