Some thoughts on tendonitis:

Moving the thumb rest might help. Usually thumb rests are in such a
position as to alleviate tendonitis.

Rethinking the manner in which you hold the instrument is probably the
solution.

Bob Spring told me some of his students use the "Claricord". I tried it
but it gets in the way of the left hand thumb. I couldn't get used to
that, though it did ease the tension of the right hand.

Tendonitis is something best diagnosed by a physician, not by
clarinetists. The physician should refer you to a physical therapist.
There is a place in Bloomington IN that deals with ailments of
musicians.
