I have arthritis in my right wrist, thumb and forefinger (the other
fingers are starting to play up, too).

As well as a neck strap, I sometimes use a wrist splint when playing.
It was supplied to me by my Occupational Therapist, originally for
support when typing, etc. (a colleague at work who suffers from RSI
tried them for a time, but he now uses voice recognition for all his
`typing').

The splint is not a perfect solution (it does nothing for my thumb,
which is actually the worst of the joints), but it helps a bit when
the wrist pain is bad.
