Don... I have found the Selmer C* to be a fairly good "stock" bc mouthpiece.
These seem to improve with adjustment (refacing). I've not tried the C**,
but I guess it is a little more open. If there were some way for you to try
several and pick the best you would be better off. The Woodwind/Brasswind
will mail 3 mpcs at a time for trial, but this is laborious and time
consuming. I understand that Clark Fobes Bb mpcs are pretty good, but have
not heard any reports about his bass clar mpc. He will also mail on a trial
