David Campbell is a British player who rates highly in my estimation.
I've only once heard him live, when he gave a marvellous performance
of the Copland concerto with the (top-rate) University Chamber
Orchestra.

He's a very active teacher and a great guy. I last encountered him at
a day organised by Cambs County Education Dept's Wind Coordinator, for
schoolchildren. It was the largest choir I've ever played in, and by
the end of the day we had some great playing from a group of very
mixed ability.

He also teaches regularly at Benselow.
