Subj: Other lists?

O.K. Enough of this lurking. I've been hanging around the outskirts of
this list for a few months now, just observing and being educated.

Last week, when I wasn't getting my daily fix of clarinet goodies, I began to
think it might be because I never put my two cents in. Then when the mail
started to come in again, I saw Michael Cassara's reference to a flute list
and it seemed like as a good a place as any to start.

The flutist in our quintet has been bugging me for some time now to find him
a flute mailing list comparable (I know nothing can compare) to our clarinet
list. Were you just kidding Michael or does a flute list exist.

I haven't been able to find anything in the Internet yellow pages or anywhere
else. It's also obvious that "listserv" can't spell worth a darn
(KLARINET???). I was wondering what he might try SUBSCRIBE PHLUTE or
perhaps even SUBSCRIBE PHLEUGHT. I'll be terribly embarassed if it turns
out to be SUBSCRIBE FLUTE.

Also, while I'm on the subject of other mailing lists (apologies to the
clarinet community) and in the company of such a knowledgable and diverse
musical body (that should quell the flames), I've been looking for a mailing
list or newsgroup devoted to a general discussion of community music, musical
organizations, or even specifically to community bands.

As conductor of a fair sized (85 member) community concert band located in
southeastern Pennsylvania, I would really like to exchange ideas with other
musicians who have an interest in that type of organization. If anyone knows
of any such lists, I'd appreciate the information. From the posts I've seen
here there are probably others who would also be interested.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help with either of the above.
