Tom,

One of the selections on the Larry Combs CD is a favorite of mine and
it alone is reason enough for me to buy the recording. I refer to Morton
Gould's "Benny's Gig," which Gould, himself, first told me about.
Although I had never heard of it previously, I could see that the
composer was very proud of the composition, a collection of clarinet and
double-bass duos, and I purchased the music immediately.

Since acquiring the music, every summer, when I attend a chamber-
music workshop, which has a least one double-bass player, I always manage
to free-lance the Gould Duos with the bass. For those unfamiliar with
"Benny's Gig," the duos are interesting both melodically and rhythmically.
Since I've not heard others play them, I look forward to acquiring the
Combs recording.
