When you buy a new Buffet, it's dripping with purple stain of some kind.
It comes off on your hands. They seem to overdo it a bit.

Can anyone confirm for me that this stain or dye is also used on the bore?

My swabs show evidence of it. Also the pads in the upper joint that get
the most moisture seem to get stained by the stuff.

Or, is this bore oil from the factory that got on the swabs and pads?

Any opinions would be appreciated.
