We've had this discussion about key plating before. At the
time I mentioned that the Buffet R13 Bb which I bought new in
1987 (#280173) has had its key plating worn down to the copper
in some areas. I expressed doubt that this could be due to my
having the dreaded "acid fingers," since this has never happened
on any of my other instruments, including my 2 previous Bb clarinets
and my A clarinet.

As I recall, Clark Fobes confirmed my suspicions that Buffet was
just doing poor plating in the years around the time I bought my
horn. Clark, does this ring a bell?
