Neil, I thank you for a very lucid and candid view of the topic and
I am grateful that you took the time to give all of us your views. Whenever
I say "all of us" I sort of feel that I am giving the impression that
we had a meeting at which you were not present, and all of us voted to
have me thank you. But that was not the case. I am simply acting because
what you said was very helpful and I am grateful that you shared your
thoughts with all of us in such a helpful fashion.

However, I do want to comment on one other thing. A topic runs on a list
such as ours to its own rhythm. Some topics start small and go on for a
long time, such as the one on the subject of the lowly polacca. During that
discussion, some may find it wearying, others not. But I don't think
anyone should try and cut off conversation on any topic because they may
have tired of it.

I think that there may be some people who are mulling over the matter and
have not yet expressed their view, if they have one to express. I would
encourage anyone who wants to speak on any subject to feel free to do so
and to continue to do so as long as there is a response of some sort. And
if there is yet something to be said on the matter of dark and light, then
say it. Be sure to announce what you are saying in the subject line so
that those who no longer have interest in pursuing this idea can delete
the message without reading it.
