My Langwill Index of musical wind instrument makers does not list
Jourdain. Crown, according to Langwill, was an importer of band
instruments from Belgium.

I don't want to get into the old argument of wood vs plastic again, but
I think for students a good modern plastic instrument is far superior to
either of the instruments you have cited. Students need an instrument
that is mechanically sound, has relatively good intonation and can
withstand abuse. I have always thought the Vito instruments were in that
class.
