They must have been developed after Pino wrote his book in 1980. I'd be
curious to know his opinion about them.
I tried one on a saxophone once, but I'm not a saxophonist so couldn't
really evaluate it, sepecially as I wasn't comparing it to any other
ligature at the time. I've never tried a Rovner on a clarinet.
