My wife, who runs the Kerrytown Concert House in Ann Arbor Mi, has asked
me to post this message. I do hope that this will not be seen as a
commercial advertisement; if someone is offended, I will never do this
again. The KCH is a small, non-profit concert space, with a great
hamburg Steinway. It has classical and jazz concerts. On Sunday, March
12 at 8:00, there will be a concert of Chamber Music by Four generations
of Michigan composers for clarinet, organized by Michael Webster. The
program will include William Balcom's "A Short Lecture on the Clarinet"
as well as William Albright's "Danse Macabre," and other clarinet pieces
by Webster, Leslie Bassett, Derek Bermel and Ross Lee Finney. Phone
number is 313-769-2999.
I post this for the information of people in the area, but also
for those who might like to know that modern music is still being
presented in various places all over the country. I do hope once again
that this posting does not violate the good standards of this list.
Piotr.
