Grooviest of the Woodwind,
In about 10 days I am going to take my grade two, and today I turned up
in the music room as usual to go through my pieces with Dr. Griffiths,
when I discovered MY LIGATURE WAS STILL AT HOME ON THE TABLE! In
desperation, knowing I would be wasting my time and his if I didn't find
a ligature. I ended up finding a rubber band, and it produced a lovely
tone, using a plain old Rico#2. It was extremely good, the reed didn't
move at all. Although I'm not planning to use a rubber band in the exam,
I was very pleased with it's effect. Anyone got any other stories of lost
ligatures?
