The only *good* (IMHO) piece that I know of right off the bat would be
the Darius Milhaud trio for violin, clarinet and piano. I know this
doesn't exactly fit in with the parameters of your request, but it's a
great work for violin and clarinet. As far as I know, there is no
orchestral version of the piano part (anyone else know?) so I think
you're stuck as far as doing it with this orchestra. But, it's such a
great piece that you and your friend should look into learning it
anyway. It's loads of fun. Hope this helped a little...:)
