Subj: Renting A clarinet -- help
Date: Mon, 6 Mar 1995 10:49:58 -0500

Sigh. Due to delays, bad luck, and arrangements falling through,
we have one A clarinet (mine) between the two of us playing in a
G&S production -- 4 performances _this weekend_.

We've tried calling various music stores in the Chicago area, as well
as the Woodwind & Brasswind to rent an A for a week or so --- everyone
says "we don't have one in stock right now".

I'm definitely the better transposer of the two of us, so it's clear
what's going to happen if we don't find one. But I'm not that secure at it,
and I don't relish madly practicing transposition right now, with an
oral exam in my major (math) coming next Monday.

Anyone have any suggestions for whom to call to rent an A very quickly.
Cost is a factor too -- this is a fundraiser for our music dept's
performance groups and the budget is not large to begin with.
