Syd comments on how many shows books have the clarinet in sharp
keys. He's right and the reason is a peculiar one. When singers
need to have less stress on the voice, they drop things down a semi-
tone. Well a semi-tone down from the most common keys of C, F, and
G are, B, E, and F#. That may be the overriding reason why sharp
keys are so common in shows.
