I play e-fer too, but it isn't my main instrument (i prefer bass). I have a
Selmer Recital about 4 yrs old and it plays fairly in tune, but the bugger
has to be warm before it is any good, like any other wooden clarinet.

Have you done the e-fer part in Bernsteins On the Town? If so, what are the
pitfalls? I am debating whether to do it in 2 weeks or loan my ax to the
person who has to play it, but she's never played e-fer before. I'm leaning
towards playing it since I know my instrument better....
