Subj: Firebird question

The newest Firebird part has a few bad page turns as well that one must
content with.

But, the important question here is--
You arrive to an audition with Firebird on the stand in front of you, you
glance over the part and see that those notes are there before 17 in the
Variation. Do you play them or leave them out??

A similiar question--
You arrive to another audition with Firebird, same deal, except this time
it is the up to date part, BUT with the notes before 17 penciled in. Do
you play them or leave them out?? (This one actually happenned to me).

One final question--
Taking this beyond just the Firebird excerpt in question, what if you
notice the parts supplied on your stand at an audition have penciled
changes in articulation, phrasing; and they are different than the
wonderful Urtext score you learned the excerpt from. What do you play?

I assume there are no correct answers, I would like to know how other
players have dealt with these situations.
