Hi all,

I've been a "lurker" on the net for a bit and have enjoyed the diversity of
subjects and people I've encountered. I'm a performer and teacher in the
Dallas area and although I perform most regularly on Bb/A, I do get called for
some bass and Eb. Since I don't perform on bass as much as soprano clarinets,
I'm looking at an older bass to purchase. I've come across a Buffet "Radio
Model," which has a left hand Ab/Eb key, low Eb, nickel silver (or other
material) keys and serial #20747. It plays reasonably well in tune and pretty
even throughout. I'd like to know more about the horn before I decide whether
to purchase it. The owner is asking $1,800 or best offer. I'd like to know if
this was a student or pro model and what model replaced it.

I'd appreciate input. I have limited access to the net (this is coming from my
husband's internet connection), so it's probably best to send replies directly
to me at 71340.2170@-----.

Thanks for your help.

P.S.,

FYI - Eddie Daniels fans, you can pick up a live recording of Eddie with
pianist Michael Garson (recorded at the University of Oklahoma Clarinet
Symposium in1994). It was a hot concert and I'm glad it's been released by U
of O as a fundraiser for the symposium. For those curious send $25 per CD
to OU School of Music, Attn: David Etheridge, 560 Parrington Oval, #109, Norman,
OK 73019. I'm not affliated with the symposium, just enjoyed the performance
(and symposium) and thought the info was worth passing on.

Regards,

Sean
