I found this out the hard way this year. I hadn't played bari sax since
high school, and I didn't blow enough air then. Now I do, and at one
point on Mondays we had a 2 hour rehearsal for the jazz band, and a 1
hour rehearsal right after that for a afro-cuban combo. One day I had a
small breakfast early (like 8:00) and no lunch. The rehearsals started
at 12:30 and I nearly passed out. I haven't missed a meal before playing
Bari since.
