For those people unfamiliar with it, there is a terrific wind
quintet by Damase, which is entitled, "Dix-Sept Variations" (Alphonse
Leduc, 1952). Although my understanding of the French notations on the
music is limited, the work appears to have been written for a quintet
comprised of Rampal, Pierlot, Lancelot, Coursier, and Hongnes.
