It was good to hear from people with more recent access to the texts and
different relevant experience. I suspect a conversation with Leon Goossens'
ghost would be the only way to reach the roots of modern woodwind vibrato.
"Flattement" is not too useful on an instrument with a lot of keys - it *sort
of* works on the recorder, on which vibrato seems to be used heavily by some
modern players.
