I have to differ with Mr. Norsworthy on his recommendations of the Cohen/Ashken
-asy Brahms. Perhaps my expectations of these two major artists was too high,
but I was very disappointed. I must say I found the interpretations to be
pedestrian, the balance off with the clarinet often hidden, and the clarinet
playing not up to the consistently high level one wound expect to hear.
Sagging pitch/sound didn't help my appreciation of the performance either.
C'est la vie.
