A most informative message from Clark Fobes on manufacturer's warrantees
and causes, prevention of cracks. He brings up the suggestion to keep
a dampit in the case, but not in the joint. Clark, can you, or anyone
elaborate on why it is preferable to place the dampit in the case rather
than the joint? Or, does anyone else have any experience/theory to share
on why one position or the other might be preferable?
