I went with the blackwood, because it is the most dense and generates the
most powerful sound. Since I play solo and chamber music I felt that was
important.

He also offers cocobolo (sp?) and rosewood, both of which sound fantastic.
They have a more mellow sound, which I assume translates to slightly lower
amplitude high partials.

It's really up to personal taste. But the black wood definitely produces
the most powerful sound.
