I have a recording of David Shifrin performing both Brahms Sonatas along with
Schumann's Fantasiestucke (sp?) which I enjoy a lot. I must, however, confess
to a heavy bias in Shifrin's favor; I revere him.

BTW, has anyone played either Envelopes or Dog Breath Variations, both by the
late Frank Zappa? Yow! Difficult clarinet parts, with relentless meter
changes and lots o technique, including those octave jumps to altissimo F's and
G's during runs that we all love...
