Dan,
I'm so happy to see people mentioning Simeon Bellison on the list, for my
teacher, Kalman Bloch, studied with Mr. Bellison back in the 30's. Kalman
did tell me that Bellison played the German system instrument, but I am not
certain whether it was the full Oehler system or the simpler Albert. I saw
a photograph of Bellison with his clarinet, but his fingers were over the
holes, and I couldn't tell for sure how many keys there were. I will ask
Kalman when I see him this week.
