I have had limited experience with recording on DAT tape, but from what I
have done, it seems as though it is quite difficult to record solo
clarinet even on a DAT. I would be interested in hearing more on this
topic since I'm considering investing in a DAT machine.

Recently I spoke with someone who had listened to clarinet
audition tapes; for quite awhile he was sure that there was something
wrong with his machine.
