It may not matter to you at that account, but this listserv doesn't
make any special distinction about error replies. Therefore, if you
delete the AOL account, AOL will just send complaints about the
account having gone back to the list. But the complaint will get
echoed to the AOL account, and provoke another complaint, and ...

This is a common failure mode, and it can be hell for the recipients
(I once came in to work on a Monday morning to find my entire 30Mbyte
mail spool quota gobbled up by a message that was originally only 3
lines long, because someone's account had been deleted.)

Please, folks, sign your account off the list before the account is
deleted!
