Dear Nicole,

Leslie B. Dunner, the distinguished African American associate
conductor of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, has written a song cycle
with clarinet called Motherless Child Songs. I believe the voice part is for
soprano, and if so, the cycle adds to a fine list of repertiore for clarinet,
soprano, and piano. I've never heard the songs personally, but performances
with Dunner (on clarinet) were very successful and the composition may even
be award-winning.
