It's important to get as many "nonarts" people to write as we can. If it
will help I know of two phone numbers people can call and have letters sent
to the appropriate congressmen in their name. Both numbers will charge a fee
for the service.

1-900-370-9000 Emergency Committee to Save Culture and the Arts (a project
of the American Arts Alliance), cost: $1.99 per min.

1-800-651-1575 Cultural Advocacy Group
Will hand deliver Western Union mailgrams to the callers two Senators
and one Representative the next day. Cost: $9.50

I'm sure we hard core, on line advocates, would rather use our e mail and
faxes, but these might be real useful in getting others to write.
