Scott-

Regarding your question about the Morre clarinet reeds; I used to use
them exclusively until about 5 or 6 years ago when I was told that they
were no longer being made. If, by some chance this is incorrect, I hope
that someone would be kind enough to mention where they can be obtained.

To that end, I heard a rather sad and unusual story with regard to why
these reeds ceased production and to this day I don't whether it is true
or not; but here goes. . . I was told that the person in charge of making
the Morre reeds found out that he had a terminal illness and as a result
of this went into a frenzied rage and destroyed the equipment etc. used
to make the reeds so that they would not continue to be in use after his
death. Could this possibly be true??????????? I have no idea, but maybe
someone else out there can shed some more light on this. I am still
convinced that they were the best manufactured reeds that I had ever
played on.
