David,
In short, the answer is,"Yes, but only if the repairman is
competent." Most new instruments have problems for many reasons including
getting banged around during shipment, huge temperature changes, poor
materials (French clarinets are NOTORIOUS for their lousy factory-issue
pads), and so on. I own a YAS-72 and am quite satisfied with it, so, good
choice. Besides, if the repairman is honest he'll tell you immediately
if the horn needs work.
